Question and Answer: shinomori no daiji

shinomori no daiji ... It's pretty obvious who this fangirl adores. Heck, all you have to go is check out her site, Poetry in Blue, to see that. daiji also doubles as draejonsoul on ff.net and must be harassed to update :-) . Fun fact: daiji was one of the early conspirators on this site and other projects related to this site. so everyone who likes this pairing must hurl at least a dozen 'thank you's in her direction.

1. First off, let's get this monkey out of the way, why Aoshi and Megumi? In other words, what makes them work, in your eyes?

They just so look good together! So there. =P

(Inhales deeply) Well, in most aspects, like intellectually, they can go head to head. They won't run out of anything to talk about--that is, if you can get Ice-boy talking.

Then they have this common factor, a paradox of sorts in terms of character. For instance, they would have this tendency to think before they act. Though it seems that Megumi is the more impulsive one among the two, they would never let emotions rule their judgment. Then, at the same time, they have this fiery, passionate nature (though it's very subtle with Aoshi) that drives them to act; sometimes, influence them in the way they think. And, to me, this is what would attract them to each other. Besides, there is no definite formula on how people would just 'click'. It's all a matter of willingness to accept each other inspite of their faults and to have that determination to stick to each other no matter what. Their stubborness and pride would make sure they do.

In any way you look at it, the pairing will work. The joy of writing this pair is the huge challenge of getting them together despite their dark past together. I think that's the biggest charm this pairing has.

2. Are there pairings or stories out there that reminds you of the relationship between Aoshi and Meg?

Heh. Haven't been in a relationship much to have a sensible comment! =P Buuut... like I mentioned in #1, they have a past together. I haven't really encountered a couple who had been on opposing sides, but not really enemies. Uhm, prolly Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani? =P I just recalled what I heard on the news on when they first met and all, that Gavin hated No Doubt's songs. Heh. If that makes any sense...

3. Do you think that Aoshi likes pineapples? Er rather, what do you think Aoshi's favorite food is? Heck, if you feel like it, attach a favorite meal/snack for any and all RK characters! Use your imagination. (no points for people who already have favorite foods--ie Beef Hot Pot or Soba) :D

LOL! I've had this suspicion that Aoshi has this secret obsession for sweets. (Har.) I dunno. It's symbolic to me. Because candy kinda embodies childhood, something he missed out of.

4. What is the most interesting or complex thing about Aoshi and Megumi's characteristics?

It's their passionate character and strong minds. No question.

Then there's Aoshi's emotional baggage. =P The journey to his path to redemption is just a classic anti-hero story that I wanna dabble into, because everybody travels that path at some point.

Meg, I'm still trying to figure out. Like Aoshi, she has layers within layers. It's... just hard to put into words. Funny enough, I'm puzzled by another woman's psyche myself! ^_^
